Acushnet Company is the leading manufacturer and marketer of golf balls, clubs, shoes, and gloves.

Product Development Engineer - Titleist Golf Balls
• Executed the design, development, and manufacturing process of new golf ball products by evaluating the effects of construction and material changes on ball performance.
• Directed weekly meetings with a cross-departmental team to implement the technology transfer and manufacturing process to successfully launch new products.
• Formulated and explored the use of additional innovative materials for golf ball constructions, including, polyurethane ionomers, urethane, urea, and silicone foams, self-healing disulfides, and bimodal molecular weight ionomers.
• Actively worked towards intellectual property for golf ball material and construction development, including the use of silicone foam centers, pre-expanded thermoplastic and thermoset polyurethane foams, high acid ionomer moisture barrier films, graphene layered constructions, and photopatterned thiol-ene golf ball covers.
• Investigated the use of photopolymerized and thermal initiated thiol-ene formulations as a novel golf ball layer by experimenting with multifunctional thiols and acrylates.
• Synthesized highly fluorinated silica sol and explored deposition techniques to generate oleo- and superhydrophobic golf ball coatings.
• Photopolymerized fluorinated polyurethane-acrylates to be used as a coating or layer that would protect internal golf ball layers from destructive water absorption.
• Characterized novel synthesized polymers using FTIR, DSC, GPC, and mechanical testing.

Awards
• 2013 Distinguished Performance Award in recognition of a distinguished contribution to a strategic business initiative.

Relevant Industrial Skills
• Superhydrophobic thin films, polymer material development and characterization, injection molding, twin- and single-screw extrusion, compression molding, and urethane formulation and casting.
